Tuesday, Sept. 11 Day in Congress: Members of the caravan who have lost family and friends to the drug war with meet with members of Congress and staff to describe the human cost. They will call for an end to U.S. support for the drug war and five basic points:
1) Dialogue on alternatives to drug prohibition,
2) Suspension of aid to Mexican armed forces
3) The need for greater efforts to combat money laundering and strict enforcement of the laws
4) A change in immigration policy that criminalizes migrants and militarizes the border. 5) Prohibition of the import of assault weapons
