10 days for Peace and Human Rights Sept 12 – 21

Logo MPJDOn September 12th join people around the world, commemorating the lives lost in Mexico due to drug war and committing ourselves to ending the violence now.

We are in the last days of the actual Caravan for Peace but only the beginning of the work to change the  polices of the war on drugs that have hurt us all. We  mourn the lives lost and dedicate ourselves the changes we need to see. Organize Your Communities and Prepare for the International Day of Peace on the 21st. 

Create a vigil in your community – use your creativity to make a statement in whatever way makes sense in your area.

1. Organize events on Peace and Human Rights. Such as: forums, concerts, plays, paintings, sculptures, exhibits, among others.

2. Visit our blog and Facebook page http://porlapazyddhh.wordpress.com/ www.facebook.com/10xlaPazyDDHH and disseminates materials you can find on these social networks by using the hashtag # 10xlapazyDDHH.

3. Be part of the activities and organization of the Day.

4. Pass the voice for peace and human rights nationally and internationally and invites an organization.

5. Build your own committee, group and brigade to organize activities.

6. Create your image and / or text to mark the Day and share.

7. Do street art interventions.

8. Upload videos on Peace and Human Rights to the blog.

9. Light a candle, put a white flag, or create your symbol and put it in your home, car or work spaces.

10. Discuss with your neighbors, friends and family are for you Peace and Human Rights.

We recommend:

-Find a central place or a symbolic place where people can gather

-Dress in white and carry flowers, candles and statements calling for the end to the violence

-Make a call to your local press person and designate a press spokes person

-Sing, chant, march! Keep speeches to a minimum

-Send your best pictures and descriptions to Info@caravanforpeace.org so we can post them to the website.

-Collect names in order to continue your local work – passing a city resolution, setting up speaking events  for victims fundraising for the Movement for Peace and Justice with Dignity

-Don’t forget to send us a description of your event so we can post it on the website.

-Help us reach our goal of 100,000 signatures in our petition to stop illegal gun smuggling by September 12th. You can do so by texting “peace” to 225568 or visiting the petition online at Presente.org
