Benito comes as a representative for the Peoples of Morelos Council.

 “The fight of the Thirteen Pueblos of the south of the state of Morelos for the defense of their water springs: Santa Rosa, El Salto, El Zapote, and El Chihuahuita, and the productive lands around them, as well as the dispossession that we have suffered because of the corruption between real estate agencies and Municipal, State and Federal Authorities; has been criminalized and repressed after a protest in the highway of the indigenous pueblo of  Xoxocotla on July 4th, 2007, when law inforcement entered and assaulted the population, particularly Mrs. Magdalena Ramirez, an older woman who was beaten and sprayed with tear gas even though she was laying on the floor.” Today, there are more than 85 indigenous  communities with many problems where aggression, kidnappings, and murders are common.
